EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking to employ a Choir Director.  The applicant must have a personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ with a willingness to teach, promote, uphold, and operate by United Methodist traditions and practices. 
Job Description
Must have experience working with an adult choir and the ability to work well with others.  The primary purpose of the Choir Director is to coordinate and resource the Chancel Choir must program on the church.  Have the ability to plan, prepare, and direct music for the adult Choir for Sunday service and for other special Christian observance such as Advent and Lent.  Having the ability to play a musical instrument is a plus but not required. 
Duties
Coordinate with Pastor and staff weekly when planning the weekly music to ensure that the musical selections emphasize the spiritual and scriptural message of the worship service.
Give names of the anthems to the church secretary in ample time for inclusion in the church bulletin.
Responsible for planning the music and making arrangements for the correct seating
Directing the weekly rehearsals
Provide rehearsal music in advance to the organist/pianist for adequate preparation time
Recruiting choir members
Make arrangements for a replacement when absent.
